Theswitchoftheswitchvalveiscontrolledbythecompressedairsignalfromthesolenoidvalve.Accordingtothedifferentfunctionsintheprocess,thereareairandsewagenitrogenswitchvalve,purenitrogensuppressionvalve,sewagenitrogenthree-wayvalve,etc.Fromthestructuretype,therearetwokindsofverticalandhorizontal.Verticalswitchingvalvecanbedividedintoairopenandairclosed.Airtoopenmeansthatwhenthesignalcompressedairiscutoff,thevalvedisccanbeopenedautomaticallybyitsownweight;conversely,itisairclosed.Theselectionofairopeningandclosingisdeterminedbythesafetyofthedevice.Thenitrogenswitchvalveisairopenandtheairswitchvalveisairclosed.

切换阀的开关是由通过电磁阀来的信号压缩空气控制的。根据在流程中起的作用不同，有空气、污氮切换阀，纯氮抑制阀、污氮三通阀等。从结构型式分，有立式和卧式两种。立式切换阀又可以分为气开式和气闭式两种。气开式是指信号压缩空气断气时，阀瓣依靠自重能自动打开；反之为气闭式。气开、气闭的选择由装置的安全性确定。氮气切换阀用气开式，空气切换阀用气闭式。
